The Beginning
Venture Garage in Holbrook, Derbyshire, is more than just a garage — it’s part of the area’s local heritage. The business traces back to the late 1950s, when Peter Dickinson and Brenda Dickinson (née Rowlands) purchased a small filling station on Belper Road, Holbrook, and renamed it Venture Garage in 1959.
Throughout the years
From the very beginning, Peter and Brenda Dickinson built Venture Garage with passion, ambition, and a clear vision for excellence. Their personal love of cars — particularly high-performance and sports models — inspired them to go beyond a standard local garage. In a bold move for the time, they even hired a former Formula 1 mechanic to oversee the workshop, ensuring that every vehicle was maintained to the highest standards. This combination of technical expertise, attention to detail, and genuine enthusiasm for motoring set Venture Garage apart from the start.
Over the years, the Dickinsons expanded both the workshop and the range of services offered, earning a reputation for honesty, reliability, and craftsmanship. Word-of-mouth from satisfied customers helped the garage grow steadily, making it a trusted name not only for local families but also for enthusiasts and commercial operators alike. Today, that legacy continues under new ownership from 2026 — carrying forward the garage’s traditions while combining them with modern standards and technology.
